SAFE has taken in ten horses that were seized in Carnation WA by King County Animal Control. These mares and foals -- emaciated, ill, covered in rainrot and lice, riddled with worms, some with injuries -- were removed from the Carnation property. Four other horses, who starved to death, were found on the property as well. A second seizure took place in Monroe on a property owned or rented by the same woman who owned the Carnation horses. Snohomish County removed three stallions, five mares, and two foals from that property, and found five dead. Criminal animal cruelty charges have been filed against the owner in both King and Snohomish Counties.
These are the horses that are now in SAFE's possession:

Donations of money or supplies are very much appreciated at this time. Needed supplies include Micro-Tek antifungal spray, feed tubs, size 68-70 waterproof blankets, and foal blankets and halters, varying sizes.
We also are in desperate need of new foster homes! We have many horses that need somewhere to go, even for the short term. There are several cases of animal neglect resulting in animal control seizures going on in Western Washington right now, and there is a tremendous need for places to put them all so we can help them.
Please contact jaime@safehorses.org for more information about needed supplies and foster home offers.
Monetary donations to help these horses can be sent via PayPal:
