age: 1 year old
sex: Filly
breed: Saddlebred
color: buckskin and white pinto
height: 13 hh
Seized by King County Animal Control on Feb 23, 2008
Status:PLACED!
Equine Aid, the rescue who had the 4 remaining horses from the Carnation seizure, is overloaded and asked SAFE to help find another place for them now that they are past their critical first two weeks. We are very grateful to Equine Aid and Geri Vincent (and her kind neighbor, who donated use of her pasture!) for taking such good care of these girls for the past two weeks!
Emma is a beautiful yearling filly, a buckskin and white pinto. Emma was completely unhandled when we picked her up the day of the seizure but is now wearing a halter and leading well. She is very sweet and loves attention. She is thin but not as scarily thin as Sinatra, Phoenix and the others, and she also has escaped the worst of the rain rot, so she is recovering well. She has been moved to a foster home in Duvall, along with her buddy Holly.

Update (8/1/08):
Emma and her old friend Dutchess have been adopted! They are now living on a beautiful property out in Chimicum WA with a couple who adore them. They now spend their days grazing, napping in the sun, and growing up.
