Rosie was initially rescued from a feedlot in Yakima. She was thin with a bad case of scratches but even in poor condition, she proved to be a very willing and friendly mare that could be ridden walk/trot/canter. She was carefully rehabilitated, and eventually placed with a girl who was looking for a new horse after her first horse colicked.
Rosie's owner has graduated high school and is leaving in a few weeks to go to England to study abroad for a year. She sadly needs to find a new home for Rosie, and SAFE will be helping her as a SAFE-Assist. Rosie is healthy and doing well. She is now in her early 20s and shows a few signs of aging, but she still has quite a bit of spunk! She hasn't been ridden much in the past 4 years, mostly just around the pasture she lives in with her cow friends. She still a very quiet and docile mare and is suitable for light riding or leadlining children. Her owner will bring her UTD on shots and get her teeth done before she goes.
She is currently located in Sultan, WA. Adoption contract required but there is no adoption fee for Rosie.
