Adopt a Horse in Need
A forever home: the ultimate reward for any rescued horse. A home where a horse will be loved and cared for, with good food to eat and shelter from the storm, with human and animal friends, with room to roam on a sunny day...and to feel safe in the knowledge that he or she will never be cast away again.
People who have adopted horses in need often find that their lives are blessed in ways they didn't expect. When a horse that has been reluctant to even approach a person sees you and lets out a soft nicker, it is music to your ears. Watching a horse stretch out on its side for a snooze in the sunshine can make you feel that all is right with the world. Seeing the light come back into the eyes of a neglected horse is an experience you will never forget. And helping a scared, unwanted individual transform into a healthy, joyful creature is the greatest gift you will ever give...or receive.
Some of the formerly unwanted horses you will meet through SAFE will surprise you, because it seems inconceivable that anyone would toss such wonderful animals away. Others do have problems or special needs, and those horses need your help more than anything.
If you are interested in adopting a horse from SAFE, we ask that you read over our adoption policies before doing anything else. Our policies may seem strict to some, but they have been developed with the best interest of the individual horse in mind.
