Use a payment app
Some SAFEkeepers use services like Venmo, PayPal, or Zelle to make their donation. Have questions? Want to check if your preferred service is supported? Contact the SAFEkeepers Program Coordinator.
Recurring donations made through the SAFEkeepers monthly sponsorship program are pooled together into a general fund that is used exclusively for the care and feeding of all the horses at our rescue. Sponsorship donations made in the name of a specific horse are considered symbolic, unless the donor specifies exactly how the funds should be used. If a gift is restricted by the donor, SAFE will use that money only for that specified purpose.
SAFE is an Exempt Organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and a registered non-profit corporation in the state of Washington. Your gift to SAFE may be tax-deductible; please consult a tax professional. All donations to SAFE are carefully recorded and tracked, and SAFE will supply each donor with a receipt which should be retained for tax purposes.

About the SAFEkeepers program
What happens to a SAFE horse who doesn’t have any sponsors?
Every horse at SAFE receives full and excellent care, regardless of whether or not they have enough sponsors to pay their way. Sponsorship is symbolic way to help SAFE by providing a sustainable flow of donations to pay for our herd’s needs.
Why don’t you offer any physical rewards for sponsors?
We’d rather spend your money to support the horses.
Avoiding physical rewards for the SAFEkeepers program allows us to keep costs low. If you’re looking for some SAFE swag to accompany your sponsorship, check out our official merchandise available for purchase.
