Free Waterproof Sheets or Blankets for Horse Owners in Need

Every year, SAFE is blessed with an abundant number of donated used blankets to keep our herd warm and dry this winter. In fact, we have far more than we need. So we would like to offer rain sheets and winter blankets at no charge to horse owners in need of a little help. We’re expecting another cold and wet winter. If you’re concerned about being able to keep your horses warm and dry, SAFE’s Blanket Bank may be able to help.

No qualifying process, no hassle, no questions. Just fill out and submit the form below, and we will do our best to find a blanket for you. We want all of the horses in our region to be warm and dry this season. And if we can help a horse belonging to a friend or neighbor, please let them know about this offer.

The only catch: we need you to pick up your blanket here at our farm in Redmond. Once your blanket is ready for pickup, we will notify you, then you can come pick it up outside our front gate whenever is convenient. WE CANNOT SHIP OR DELIVER YOUR BLANKETS. You must pick them up here in Redmond WA

Here’s how it works:

1) Fill out and submit the application below. If you have more than one horse, please submit a separate form for each horse.

2) We will find one waterproofed blanket or sheet in the size you’ve indicated, and then we will contact you to let you know that your blanket is ready to be picked up.

3) Your blanket will be available to be picked up outside the front gate of SAFE’s Redmond WA location. You can pick up whenever is convenient for you, no need for an appointment. Just look for the bag with your name on it, and go.

4) After November 1, blankets will be available “while supplies last.” If you put in a request after 11/1/2023 and we have a blanket available in the size you need, we will certainly give it to you!

If you have any questions please contact Lily  at lilyl@safehorses.org

The Blanket Bank is held in memory of Dillon, a horse we could not save. A horse we’ll never forget. Read Dillon’s story here. It does not have a happy ending. For more information about SAFE’s Community Outreach Program, please check us out here on the website.
