Lexee has been working with Harissa, and recently participated in the May Joel Conner clinic alongside this fiery redhead. Here’s what she has to say:
“Harissa has been going great with her newest fashion piece of a saddle. And wearing it has brought out some new life in her.
Changing eyes on the stirrups has really challenged her balance and confidence but she’s been figuring out that she has some pretty good feet to keep her going.
We’ve also been working a lot on front quarters. Harissa is a bit heavy on the forehand and so this has been a bit of a challenge. And to add looking at a stirrup out of her off eye in the process only adds to the challenge. This clinic we spent a lot of time showing her that she’s able to move her front quarters and back up confidently. Allowing her to engage her hind move and “stand up” off her front end.
We’ve also spent a bit of time sitting on her from the panels of the round pen. Moving our legs and flag to see if she’s able to hang in there with us on her. And she’s doing great, We’re hopeful come August at the next clinic she will get her first rides!”
