Having a community of trustworthy organizations in our network that can call on us for support — and vice versa — helps us to help more horses, not to mention each other. In exchange for taking Hayden into our program, Care Fur Life took in not just one, but two of our horses: Cleo and Deja. These two mares, almost identical, came to us in April of 2024 out of an animal control seizure. They’d been in rough shape on seizure, and while their body condition had improved by the time they arrived here at SAFE, mentally they were in need of peace. During their time with us, they entered into the fold of our groundwork program, gaining more confidence in themselves and their environments.
Now at Care Fur Life, these two are guaranteed safety in their program, forever. They will enjoy shady paddocks, kind horse friends (and each other), and plenty of good human attention in the form of brushing, walks… and treats, of course.
We are so grateful for great organizations like Care Fur Life, and are so happy that we were able to help one another out, resulting in such a swell spot for these dear mares to land.
