Well for starters, we’ve added HUNTERS to the program — classes in the Sandamar Farm Hunter Ring will get underway on Sunday morning. We have five divisions: trot pole, cross rails, 2′, 2′3″, and 2′6″. If you’re looking for a good place to get warmed up for the Octoberfest Hunter/Jumper Show, the SAFE show is the place to do it. Not only will get the opportunity to ride your horse in the same arena on the same showgrounds as Octoberfest, our champions in the 2′3″ and 2′6″ divisions will each win a certificate good for $100 off your entry fees at Octoberfest. And even if you’re not headed to a rated Hunter/Jumper show in the near future, the SAFE show is a great place to compete in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere!

Also new this year is our gala DINNER & SILENT AUCTION which will take place after the end of the show day on Saturday night. We’ll be serving up grilled Carne Asada, pouring 14 Hands “Hot to Trot” Washington wines, laughing & cheering for the horses competing in Bribe Your Horse and other fun classes, and grooving to the cool Caribbean sounds of musician Eric Stone. The SILENT AUCTION will feature terrific items to bid on and win — the donations we’ve received for the auction so far are fantastic and you will not want to miss it. All in all, this is going to be a fabulous evening and we don’t want you to miss it. Tickets are $15 each for show participants & volunteers, and $25 each for the general public. You’ll need to purchase your tickets in advance so we can get an accurate head count for the food. This event is being hosted by the Parrotheads of Puget Sound — a group of happy-go-lucky folks who love the music of Jimmy Buffet as much as they love supporting non-profit organizations like SAFE. These people know how to throw a good party, so why not get your tickets right now?
