Today we celebrate our 2025 Volunteer of the Year—Virginia (“Ginni”) Guest!

Ginni brings incredible passion, dedication, and love to SAFE. She’s truly a ray of sunshine wherever she goes, and each of us at SAFE has felt that bright light. Ginni has been around horses her whole life. Before arriving at SAFE, she supported her grandchild at 4H, FFA, and WAHSET horse shows and loved the sense of peace that comes from being around horses. While volunteering at Overlake Hospital on the Orthopedic Floor, she felt called to return to horses—and found SAFE. Ginni joined SAFE as a volunteer in 2018 and is now celebrating close to eight years of service. She’s logged 4,267 volunteer hours, participated in community events and Joel Conner clinics, and is a pillar of strength in our volunteer base.

Ginni brings a truly selfless spirit to her work. She’s always willing to lend a helping hand and understands that no task is too small in supporting our horses’ recovery. All of our work at SAFE matters equally—whether sweeping the barn, cleaning the bathrooms, or brightening everyone’s day by planting beautiful flowers for us all to enjoy. Our horses rely on the full scope of SAFE’s diverse teams, and no one understands that, and lives it day to day, more than Ginni.

Ginni is widely recognized in our volunteer community for her grit and determination. She’s been through it all with SAFE and continues to show up. Ginni is thoughtful and takes time to consider what she can do to make things better at SAFE.

Over the years, Ginni has contributed to:
