Bubbles

Bubbles was a surprise to the Oregon woman who rescued her dam from a bad situation. And not only was she not in a position to care for an extra horse, she had physical limitations that prevented her from giving the youngster the handling she needed. In May 2010, the yearling filly was surrendered to SAFE, part of a joint venture between SAFE and Sound Equine Options, a 501(c)(3) veterinary-based equine group in the Portland area. Sound Equine Options (SEO) donated Bubbles’ vaccinations and routine vet care, and worked to find a suitable foster home in the Portland area for Bubbles to reside.

Bubbles did not have much handling when she was surrendered and needed some initial training to learn to lead and to pick up her feet for the farrier. She was in good physical shape, just in need of having her hooves trimmed. It was immediately evident that Bubbles was a quick learner with a good mind. About 14 hands as a yearling, we could tell she was going to grow up tall.

We are extremely grateful to Sound Equine Options for their assistance with Bubbles. Without them, we would not have undertaken any rescue work in the Portland area.
