Dr. Hannah was here this morning to check again on Whisper. Her temp was 98 degrees so she is still staying warm, but we added a 3rd blanket on her because it is just so cold out there, and very windy as well. We put some ointment on her wounds, and we really wantedā¦

Whisper was rescued a week ago by Snohomish City Animal Control. Whisper was being kept in the backyard of a Snohomish city resident along with 3 other horses and severely neglected. Apparantly, Whisper went down and couldnāt get up, and she called Pilchuck out. Theyā¦

Dory Update ā Dec 2, 2008
I went out and visited Dory on Saturday at her foster home (and brought a potential adopter to visit her as well). She is doing fabulous! Sheās in with three other horses and they all cater to her as the baby ā she sneaks her way in slowly to the other horsesā stallsā¦
Annie Update from Dec 2 2008
Last report I had from Andrea (which was on Saturday) is that Annie is doing well, but of course is much more reactive than Willow and Andrea is going slow with herā¦working on desensitizing, learning how to tie and have baths and all that. Sheās tacked her up,ā¦
Somebody to loveā¦
Savannah is such a lovely mare. Sheās probably never going to be comfortable enough to be someoneās riding horse ā her fibrotic myopathy causes a lot of strain to her back and hips ā but sheās got so much to offer someone as a companion and friend. Savannah is a horseā¦
Silly goose!
Savannah didnāt enjoy yesterdayās hail storm, but rather than come inside to escape it, she chose to stand outside in her paddock and look miserable. Fortunately the hail didnāt last long, and within minutes all was well again, but we just had to laugh a little whenā¦

Owen Update
Owen continues to make steady progress adjusting to his new life as a SAFE horse. Weāre taking things very slow with him to earn his trust. Fortunately Owen is a very good boy, gentle and willing and easy to deal with. Itās lucky for us that his behavior is so mildā¦
Sasha, Rest in Peace
On Friday afternoon, surrounded by friends who were there to comfort and say goodbye, Sasha was humanely euthanized. It is never easy to make the decision to let a horse go, but it is especially difficult when that decision is being made because we fear for the safetyā¦
