…there couldn’t be a better time to do so than right now. Donations are way down, and our recent expenses have been very high, especially veterinary expenses. We spent a great deal of money on spring shots and dental floats for every one of our horses, and we’ve also had some unexpected expenses like April’s wound care and Romeo’s euthanization. We’ve paid these vet bills, but they’ve put a bit of a strain on our bank account.

SAFE is funded almost entirely by your support. We receive very little in the way of grants, or support from the counties we serve. If you’ve been following SAFE for any length of time, you know that we’ve never come to you in a panic saying that horses won’t be fed or vet care won’t be given if you don’t send us money. With us, the horses always come first and we will always find a way to give them what they need. We don’t take in any horse unless we are certain that we can provide for it. And that is still the case. But if you’ve been thinking about making a tax deductible gift to SAFE, this would be a great time to do it. If you’ve been touched by any of our recent stories — brave April, sweet Mr Pibb, or even poor Romeo — please consider a donation to help us keep doing the work we do.

Donating to SAFE is easy — we accept Visa/Mastercard right on our website, as well as PayPal and donations by check. All the options for donating to SAFE are outlined on this page (click here).

Thank you so much for being a part of SAFE. We cannot do it without you.
